James M. Sanders, MD, FACS

James M. Sanders, MD, FACSDr. Sanders is a board certified general surgeon practicing at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas. He is a native of Louisiana, receiving an undergraduate degree in biological sciences and a medical degree at Louisiana State University. He completed residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, a high-volume surgery program where he underwent extensive training in a broad range of surgical techniques. His special interests are robotic and laparoscopic surgery of the gastrointestinal tract, gallbladder, and hernias; and surgery of the thyroid and parathyroid.

Dr. Sanders now also enjoys teaching current Baylor surgical residents. He has published in several medical journals, and has lectured on the history and future of reflux surgery. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Texas Medical Association, and the Dallas County Medical Society.

Dr. Sanders is dedicated to timely appointments, as well as thorough patient education. He and his courteous office staff will assure that patients know what to expect before, during, and after surgery. Dr. Sanders also works in close communication with primary care physicians and specialists to assure that each patient receives the best individualized care possible. He shares an office with five other surgeons on the Presbyterian Hospital campus, and he or one of his partners is available by phone at all times.

Dr. Sanders is very happy to call Dallas home. He enjoys spending time with friends, being active in his church, music, traveling, fly fishing, running, and cooking.
